ACS Valves is an industry-leading rotary valve manufacturer located in Caledonia, Ontario, Canada. The family-owned company has been in business for more than 36 years and it designs and builds its rotary airlock valves in-house. ACS Valves designs, engineers, and manufactures rotary valves for metering, feeding, and airlock in bulk material processing, dust collection, and pneumatic conveying applications. Its products are sold through a global network of sales representatives and supported by a corporate staff of applications engineers and customer service technicians. ACS’ primary industries are food, pet food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, construction, chemical, agriculture, and recycling. Its main customers are processors and manufacturers who convey bulk materials for those industries.

ACS Valves is owned and operated by two generations of the Thompson family. Tom Thompson is the founder and CEO, and his son and daughter Greg and Megan are co-COO and presidents. Megan is responsible for directing the company’s global operations, sales, marketing, and product development initiatives. She is also ACS’ resident NFPA expert and advises customers on ways they can prevent fires, explosions, and other dangers in their manufacturing facilities. Greg Thompson is the authority on the mechanics of manufacturing. For many customers, he is the go-to expert for all of their engineering needs in mechanical and pneumatic conveying. He also invents many of ACS’ unique rotary valve designs, such as the new Multi-Port valve.

The company used to manufacture entire pneumatic conveying systems but then decided to focus its efforts on rotary valves. This makes ACS an ideal partner for its customers, who come to it for solutions along the conveying line. ACS understands the requirements for performance, quality, and efficiency, and it is able to help troubleshoot issues beyond the valve.

In 2022, ACS Valves acquired Drummond Manufacturing Inc. With Drummond’s expert CNC machining capabilities, ACS expects to shorten lead times and fulfill more orders for rotary valves and parts soon. ACS’ sister company, ACS Mixers, manufactures gypsum pin mixers and parts.

ACS’ headquarters and three manufacturing facilities are located in Caledonia, Ontario. Because all engineering and manufacturing operations are done locally in southern Ontario, it can control supply, reduce its carbon footprint, and ship orders quickly and reliably.
