WAM, Inc. was founded in Modena, Italy, in 1969, and employs 2,100+ people at more than 60 locations in 40 countries. At the age of 22 after leaving a job as a draftsman at a concrete plant, Marchesini Vainer founded WAMGROUP in the north of Italy. It was originally called Officina Meccanica Marchesini Vainer. Marchesini’s first innovation was to standardize and then produce on an industrial a screw conveyor, which is a device with a very long history, invented it is said by Archimedes. This product formed the basis for WAMGROUP success.
In 1984 the company set up its first foreign subsidiary in France, followed by Germany and the United States. In the 1990s, WAM set up its first manufacturing facility outside of Italy in Lawrenceville, Georgia. WAMGROUPS’s current headquarters is located in northern Italy in Cavezzo. WAM, USA, is part of part of a multinational group, and is 100% owned by WAMGROUP.
Currently, WAMGROUP manufactures its product range on four continents under 15 different brands and distributes it through its worldwide subsidiary network offering customers professional advice, smooth order management and ‘round the clock’ spare part service. In the United States, WAMGROUP has manufacturing facilities located in Fort Worth, Texas, and in Lawrenceville, Georgia, with a total area of 133,000 square feet. Since 2020, WAM has had an office and warehouse located near Chicago, Illinois.
WAM’s product range includes equipment for bulk solids handling and processing, dust filtration, wastewater treatment, vibration technology, and renewable energy generation. WAM serves markets ranging from building and construction, feed and food, plastics and chemicals, renewable energy, and plants and machinery.
